Ankara Sights, Sounds and Hotels

The Museum of Anatolian civilizations records the influences of the many different empires who presided over the Anatolian plain from the Palaeolithic age to the approximately 700 BC. Set in two 15th-century structures, one a bedesten, (covered bazaar), and the other a kervansaray, (an overnight resting place for travelling caravans) the museum displays a comprehensive and valuable collection of artefacts and treasures from past ages, including the fabulous treasure of Croesus. The Council of Europe awarded the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations in Ankara the European Museum of the Year in 1997.

As with all the ancient and celebrated sights in Ankara, the Ankara Museum of Anatolian Civilizations is filled with intrigue. Experience true Turkish hospitality in the convivial Ankara hotels.
